18 Resolution Ideas for 2018 (& 17 Things 2017 Taught Me)

New Year's is such a beautiful time.  Not only does it provide some celebration after Christmas, but the general attitude of New Year's is one of hope.  It's a time to look back at the past year, and look into the future with hopes and resolutions for the new year.   I love the general spirit of this holiday.  As I look back at the good and bad of 2017, and make resolutions for 2017, I'd like to share with you all: Review of 2017: Biggest Events: Solar Eclipse Ed Sheeran Divide Tour Florida Trip I started anxiety medicine  Ohio Trip Mu Gamma Gamma competition Finally got bangs and a perm Matching tattoos with my best friend Madison Women have started to speak up, and the #MeToo movement My grandma turned 95, and she still thinks I train dogs for a living I got another ear piercing and the cross tattoo I wanted Brynn took us to a haunted trail I saw RHCP I gave up social media for Lent (& it went really well!) December Writing Challenge (Apology), Day 5

While I have been writing every day, I just have not posted any for the past couple of days.  I started my Winter Qtr of school yesterday and I have been a bit overwhelmed.  Last night I had a bit of a fever, and today I am still not feeling that great.   Since I haven't had any donations yet, I haven't been wearing a dress today for Dressember. Also I thought I might throw up all day, so I didn't want to do so on a dress. I'm going to donate money, I was just waiting to double donations.  Right now however, doubling zero is still zero.  Please donate: https://dressember.funraise.org/fundraiser/hannah-bussa  I did feel pretty bad in class today when I walked in and immediately was asked "Where's your dress," but I will try again.   I will say that I have been completely overwhelmed and having anxiety attacks again, but I finally feel a bit better tonight.  The Office has really cheered me up.  I also found a good new song to listen to on my drive tod

DRESSEMBER (December Writing Challenge, Day 3)

Yesterday afternoon, I found a really cool nonprofit that raises money and awareness for victims of human trafficking worldwide. I'm an advocate, and I will be wearing a dress every day for the rest of the month (except while I am at work due to my uniform, and while I am working out).   PLEASE help me to raise money for these victims! I am going to try to match all of your donations, so please, break my bank.  All donations are tax-deductable, too :-) (While this isn't exactly a writing "challenge" for my blog today, I will be vlogging my experiences, as wearing dresses for the entire month of December in Nebraska will be quite interesting.)  Here are some facts about human trafficking if you aren't aware of this massive problem: (most of these facts come from the Dressember website) 30 MILLION people are currently enslaved worldwide 80% are being trafficked for sexual exploitation  Roughly 19% are trafficked for labor  Human trafficking m

December Writing Challenge, Day 2

What Are the Best Things You’ve Read, Watched, Heard or Played This Year? Read Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland by Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus a stolen life: a memoir AND  freedom by Jaycee Dugard My Story by Elizabeth Smart The previous four books are all stories of women who spent time being kidnapped and held in false imprisonment.  Hope  is my favorite book.  While these girls went through chaos, they have some of the most uplifting outlooks on life. life.love.beauty by Keegan Allen - This is a beautiful photography book.  Yes, Please by Amy Poehler - If you want a funny book, here it is!  Harry Potter  by JK Rowling - I've been rereading this; I stand by my love for the series I'm currently reading  No Backup - My Life as a Female FBI Special Agent  by Rosemary Dew.   I have a new list of books I got at Half Price Books and that I got for my birthday that I am  excited about.    I watch and listen to a wide variety, so I wi

December Writing Challenge, Day 1

Introduction As many of you know, I am pretty set when it comes to my major and that plan.  However, I have been going between a few different minors to start once I transfer to UNO next year.  One of these minors I am considering is Journalism.  I know this will require me to write more often than I currently do, so for the month of December, I figured I'd do a writing challenge (thanks to Pinterest).   Basically, I am going to try to write a small post every day about a random topic.  This will force me to write about things that maybe I don't want to write about, and at times that maybe I won't feel like writing.  Some of these topics will force me to do something small and write about it. I enjoy writing and taking pictures on my own terms, but I am hoping this will make it slightly more like a responsibility, to see if I still enjoy it.  ( If you have any topics you want me to write about, just comment/message them to me! ) Right
